Tom Knowles Jackson

Tom is a thrower.  He learnt pottery as a schoolboy in Dorset under Steve Sheridan and following a short career in the Army and subsequently in business in the Middle East and Asia found his way back to ceramics following a 20year break.  Tom's inspiration comes from the Leach pottery tradition. He uses stoneware clays that he high fires in gas reduction using ash and traditional Asian glazes that he makes himself.  Tom set up The Clay Loft in 2018; the latest of his ceramics adventures that includes appearing in the first series of the BBC's Great Pottery Throwdown.
