Expressive slipware with Russell Kingston
A two day masterclass at The Clay Loft led by Russell Kingston.
Dates: 2nd & 3rd October 2021
Times: 0930 for 1000 to 1630
Location: The Clay Loft, Inchbrook Mill, Gydynap Lane, Stroud, Gloucestershire, GL55EZ
Russell is a North Devon based Slipware potter who has developed a signature style through his use of coloured slips over red earthenware clay. Often described as fluid and free the movement and energy in Russell's pots results for years of practise in the development of his techniques.
In this two day workshop Russell will introduce a number of decorating techniques using slips and will also use hump moulds and demonstrate how to make these for yourself.
The two days will include demonstrations by Russell but you should expect a lot of actual hands on as you practise the techniques on your own work made during the workshop.
This course is most suitable for intermediate makers though proficiency in throwing is not essential as you will have the option to work with slabs and tiles.
The fee includes all instruction and materials including up to 3 pots fired through to glaze.
Please note that lunch is not supplied. Lunch options will be offered in the joining instructions.
